    1969 option TJ2 blackout trivia

Got some time on my hands-what with the virus and all....
Which blackout masking job would be considered "correct"?- the L/H side or the R?H side?
(This is an all original, low mileage car that I bought new)IMG_20200604_165007737.jpgIMG_20200604_165129033.jpgIMG_20200604_165129033.jpg

Not trying to be a smart ass, but, if that is an all original, low mileage car that you bought new, then THAT is the correct blackout masking job.

Sorry-I certainly did not mean to offend anyone.

I was merely offering further evidence that, during the assembly process, some workers did their jobs differently than the worker on the other side of the car.

I guess I should not have stated "all original" in my description of my 1969 corvette!
I guess nothing is "all original" unless it is in the second in which it was born!
I took delivery of my car in late oct.1969, and this is what has been changed since then!
battery, air filter, fuel filter, oil and oil filter-3 times- brake calipers, spark plugs, and fuel tank.

You're a lucky man to have that beautiful car all these years.

I am not seeing a difference, but that said, it is not uncommon to find side to side differences in the Corvettes built before a lot of automation took over. We often see exterior paint differences as well as the wheel well sound deadening. Even engines will have side to side differences in the ignition shielding and spark plug wire routing. Back when humans built the cars variations were not unusual. Those cars built in the afternoon, after the workers enjoyed an adult beverage fueled lunch, displayed more variations than those built when coffee fueled the workers.

I would like the opportunity to see your car in person so you could point out these kinds of differences. These are the kinds of things the Advanced Judging Seminar thrives on. If we ever get to having Regional Meets again I would welcome the chance to use your car in one of my classes if we have a meet in your neighborhood.

I am having a hard time spotting what's being questioned... It's hard to tell if those are black-out shadows or reflections.

Ah! Now I see it. Does it look like they used masking tape?

thank you for the compliment! Yes, there was some luck involved at times.
