    Bolts with "L5" markings

I have eight 5/16"-18 X 1" grade 5 bolts, full length threads, with "L5" markings on them that I removed from a 57-61 Corvette aluminum dual 4BB intake manifold which attached the 2 carburetors. I know the were not original since studs are the norm.
Had anyone ever seen original Corvette, Chevrolet, or GM bolts with "L5" markings?

I think those bolts are used on the rear shocks - it is the upper bolt that goes through the frame - I know they are "correct" for a 64, not sure about other years of C2s.

      Ed,
The rear shock upper bolts, GM # 3824692, have 7/16"-20 threads. Do they have the "L5" markings?

Yes - my 64 has bolts marked L5, I believe the bolts are original. Off hand I do not recall the GM p/n - if necessary, I will check it for you in the AIM. LIC carries these bolts. LIC p/n is 51-54A, with L5 head marking.

If those bolts are full length threads they certainly are not 3824692. They may not even be GM bolts regardless of head marking.

David is correct, C2 "L5" rear shock bolts do not have "full length treads"

As stated in my very first post the size is 5/16"-18 X 1" with full thread length with the "L5" marking. This bolt size was used on the alternator adjustment brace. I have several in my 40-year collection with various head markings.
