1967 390hp choke cable thru firewall and carb attachment

Does anyone have a picture or location of where the choke cable comes thru the firewall? Also where on the carb is it attached?

Never heard of a choke cable on a 67 Vette ?? The engines had an automatic well choke with a rod and thermostatic spring.

The only Corvettes that I'm aware of that used a manual choke were those with the Blue Flame 6 cyl.

Screwed to the intake on the right side with a Phillips screw

            It's an aftermarket addition.

Jim. So the original Holley carburetor model 3811 for a 1967 390hp did not have a choke cable? The reason i'm asking is because i replaced the old carb that was on the car with an original 3811. The old carb (was a holley but can't remember the model number) had this choke cable on the right side of the carb and the pull out carb lever was attached to the underside of the instrument cluster right underneath the lighter.

The choke on the original carb. was operated by a thermostat coil mounted on the intake manifold.

Is this thermostat coil needed? I bought a 3811 carb and it does not have this coil. During judging do they look for it??

It’s needed for proper cold starts and warm up. Yes it’s a judged item. There should be choke on the carb but the per shown in Jim post is a separate item
