    1960 high horse fuel injection

Of the three FI units 250-300-320, do ither the 250 or 300 units have a finned top? I know the 320 has a flat top and will the 250 and 300m unit work for a May-1960. Maybe good ole JD can chime in. Thanks in advance. Jerry

The 7250 and 7300 units which have crossed my bench have had the finned doghouses.

Jerry, The 250 & 300 units have the ribbed plenum, only the 310 & 320 units (for 1960) had the flat top. I believe the 320 unit is much more common for the 290 HP engine but I am certainly not an expert. I am not familiar with a 300m unit, there is a 300R listed for 1959 low HP. Good luck, Don H.

Hi Jerry, Look on page 174 of the new 1958-1960 manual. You already have the answer but I will repeat some of it.
        Plenum styles.
I would not expect to see the early finned units on a May car. THe May HHP had the 7017320 flat top unit.

FYI info and others. 7017310 unit. About 8 were made. I have only restored one original 7017310. They are a LHP unit.
I restored an original 7017310 in the late 80's or so. Was on a car from Texas.
To recap: You need a flat top 7017320 unit.
        Take care, John
