How do you remove the radio in my 66 with factory air?

Mel, Here is the "rough draft" as it has been a few years since I did it. Remove both console side panels (easier if you remove the console). Remove the bottom heater diverter box (probably a bad description), it is the metal box directly behind the radio that comes out fairly easy after you remove a few screws. Disconnect the power connector, antenna, & radio knobs. There are nuts behind both knobs and a bolt on the right (passenger) side. I think you can now work it out. If I remember correctly it ends up on its side to come out. Hopefully someone will correct or add to my procedure as needed. Good luck, Don H.

Mel, I would first take the side panels off. Then check for a rear brace and undo it. Remove the Knobs on the front and push the radio to the front of the car. it is a tight squeeze.

Thanks - i did remove the console, side panels, knobs, nuts bezels power connections, antenna and bole on bottom on the on the passenger side. Just could not get the radio out. i will remove the "heater" outlet.
