    IMO there are no less than 7 characters on that pad that would independently make me run from the car IF i was looking to purchase an original motor car.

        In general, wasn't the stamp date set at the start of the shift, and used throughout the day?

            Are there photo examples of same displacement and differing horse power, i.e. IL and IP engines built on the same day?

              The Vin Stamp is much more likely to have the same exact individual stamps in it when the VINS are close...
              I am under the assumption they changed up by one - not replacing every character for the next VIN.
              UNLESS for efficiency there were 2 gangs for VIN stampings and while stamping 0122 0123 was being set up... then 122 changed to 124 while 123 was being stamped and on...

                  The broach marks have numerous non parallel features. Definitely suspect IMHO.
