On this 1966 stamp pad, the broach marks look NTFP, but what do others think about the characters?

Thx Edward. I do not have a photo of the casting date yet to know. Here is another photo that is a little clearer.

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
The Tonawanda characters look ok, but the 3 in the vin looks too wide. The 1s in the vin also look the pieces of type once had horizontal lines at the base that were ground off incompletely with a dremmel tool.- Top

The VIN numbers look suspect I agree with Patrick the 1's look very strange.

Mike - if you go on the C 2 Registry
Look under data base engine stamp 66 - there are a number of pictures of engine pads which you can compare you're stamp to - the two obvious ones that jump out for me are the 6 and the 1 -- Top

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
I'm no expert... just making some observations. I do have one photo of a 1966 T1214 stamp for comparison.
Unless there was some issue that day, I would expect those stamps to appear similar.
Although the photo angle is slightly different, I've tried to correct the proportions.
What are your thoughts... especially on the number '4'?

Re: 1966 stamp pad opinions please
I agree that various style 4's appear in the gang holder... but in most cases, on the exact same day, shouldn't the stamp appear the same?
In general, wasn't the stamp date set at the start of the shift, and used throughout the day?- Top
