I'd think it would be judged as a 390 horse car with deduct the items that differ on the engine from a 390 such as intake, carb, distributor and air cleaner along with some other 435 horse items. Since there isn't a blatant attempt to defraud the judges due to assembly and VIN stamps on the pad, I'd think it would be accepted for judging.

Agreed this particular described situation does not appear to be a blatant willful attempt to defraud, and "counterfeit" may be too strong a term. In this case standard deductions for added option RPO L71 may be applied.

Wayne, All is not lost today. For the first time this past June the Pittsburgh Tri-State Chapter judged at least 4 Concours Corvettes.
The car owners were quite pleased.
Word has gotten out in our area and I think our next chapter show we will have a lot more Concours cars to judge. John

This looks like the answer I'm looking for.
Question: If there is a standard deduction for RPO L71, what is it, and how would the car fare assuming all else is original?
