Re: 1970 Interior delima
Here are pictures and the procedure of covers that I re stuffed. I do not know what Bill's instructions say, but the job is relatively simple once the covers are removed.
Removing all the old dried foam is a must. Do it outside if possible or at least in the garage. That sticky foam dust can make a mess. After the channel were stuffed I used some scrim and contact adhesive to seal the channels. I used 1/4" scrim foam which seems to be the same as what was originally used. You use what you like, but I think 1/2" may be to thick. I did 2 sets and they looked very good. The full set shown are from a '69.

Re: 1970 Interior delima
Wow... I really appreciate the illustrations.
Combined with the cleaning processes I have used on comfort weave in the past, most anyone's covers can look as fresh as the day the car was delivered.
I used a friends commercial carpet cleaning van (which uses a roots blower to pull vacuum) and used a 2 gal pump up sprayer which I poured boiling water into mixed with oxyclean and woolite then extracted at the same time I was spraying.
You can see in the last photo here with the RED 1/4" on it that the comfortweave, even though clean, is still letting off foam.
My opinion is that with the techniques illustrated here VERY serviceable original covers are available to anyone willing to put forth the effort.James A Groome
