Is the 1116636 1963 ignition switch actually marked "636" on the case? Thanks.

Re: '63 Ign. Switch
Loren, According to this link it was superceded to 1116647.
This link shows that part for 1963 Buick "ALL".

Re: '63 Ign. Switch
Thanks, Rich. That means that "at some time", 1116636 was in the "line of succession" for a '63 Corvette ignition switch, because this one came out of a ONE FAMILY OWNED '63 Blk/Blk FI coupe. I'm trying to provide answers to a local restorer.- Top

Re: '63 Ign. Switch
Loren, I searched a bit more to see if they're functionally equivalent. They are.
gmpartswiki has photos but the part is marked "647" with a GM box marked 1116636. Note the terminal pinout below.
More searches tell me that the 1116635 was superceded to 1116650 (D-1449)
A 1116635 switch (below)appears to have the same terminal pin configuration as the 1116636/1116647, however, it is missing the IGN2 terminal which is on the 1116636/1116647.
Obviously on that car, the Ignition switch harness plug fits onto the 1116636 switch and it should function properly. The IGN 2 terminal is not used in the Corvette harness.
