    Dana,

Check the ground wire that goes from the points mounting plate to the distributor housing.

You getting 12 volts from brown wire (ignition) to ballast resistor with key on? Check continuity of ground wire from dist to coil to ground with points closed (do this with key off). I'm assuming you set point gap to .017 when you replaced them as well.

You experienced a intermittent problem when you last drove the car. Subsequently, you found a cracked distributor cap which could well have been the source of the problem. After you replaced the cap and other related parts, you found you had no spark, at all. Clearly, something was done wrong when you replaced the parts or one of the parts is defective.

Make sure the points are closing!

                Re: No spark 283

A bad condenser can cause no spark, start putting back on old parts except for cap till you find the problem. You are making this way harder and more expensive then it should be!

New problem... I haven't been to the garage yet. June 6 went in for major dental surgery , and still on the mend . If all goes well, I'll be back in the garage in a couple of weeks. Thanks
