Crusin' down the road and the '57 start cuttin out. Back in the garage found the dist cap is cracked . Replaced the cap ,rotor, points and cond. now No spark! Replace the coil. no spark. Replace ballaster. No spark. Replace ignition switch ,still now spark . Any ideas ?

Check the ground wire that goes from the points mounting plate to the distributor housing.- Top

You getting 12 volts from brown wire (ignition) to ballast resistor with key on? Check continuity of ground wire from dist to coil to ground with points closed (do this with key off). I'm assuming you set point gap to .017 when you replaced them as well.- Top

You experienced a intermittent problem when you last drove the car. Subsequently, you found a cracked distributor cap which could well have been the source of the problem. After you replaced the cap and other related parts, you found you had no spark, at all. Clearly, something was done wrong when you replaced the parts or one of the parts is defective.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
