I friend that worked for a used car lot said they had a 55 gallon barrel full of POP'S ETC.
    Ken, there is another reason:
When I wrecked my 6-week old 1969 Corvette with 3800 miles on it (I guess they were original miles ) it had the PoP in the glove box. Somehow that item never made it to the guy who bought it from the insurance auction. My guess is there was a warrantee claim filed against that car to get someone some parts they wanted/needed.

...I thought 1968 was the last year & only C3 that the interior/exterior were on a POP??? Maybe I thinking something else???

Paul, 1968 was the last year that they called out interior/exterior colors. I should have clarified that.

Thanks Sven, Michael and Tim for contributing information on pre POP Owner Protection Plan booklets. Two questions come to mind regarding these.

              1. Does anyone know of a solid axle hand written Protection Plan booklet? No doubt one or more exist. So the prerequisite is a hand written pre '63 booklet that is known to be real. Not thought to be real.

              2. Would small Chevy dealerships be prone to hand written booklets?

                Dan,

The Chevrolet dealership Dirks Motor Co. in Akron, Iowa was a very small town dealership. The current population is just under 1,500 and I would assume even less in 1964. The dealership just closed in 2013.

Thanks James. Your example is clearly a typed example which doesn't fit the proposed '63-4 format or my small dealership supposition.

I fear a small sample size will make it a challenge to ascertain a plausible pattern.

I honestly don't think you will find a plausible pattern. All warranty books were provided at the selling dealer before mid 1961 when St. Louis began to insert them in the glovebox package on the assembly line. Over the course of every model year each dealer recieved bulk shipments of these in blank form and had their office manager fill them out for each and every car sold.
The paper warranty books were the same for all Chevrolet models including Corvette. Each selling dealer decided which way they would fill out these booklets. From my experience over the years many used typewriters and others used either a rubber dealer stamp with the selling dealers name, address etc., or just had the office manager fill them out by hand. I don't believe Chevrolet ever instructed the dealers on how to do it.

Yep! That was a big reason that they didnt want the new buyer to check out for wrecks & drive train along with rollbacks.
Terry we both know that in our day it was like the old west horse trading no milage stetment on the title no warranty & car fax in our day we were real men.LOL The trouble we were the ones that were wrecking & blowing up engines transmissions & ear ends racing.
