    57 Windshield T-bolt nut

On the 57, the AIM shows a washer, lock washer, and nut on the windshield mounting t-bolt. The Judging guide says windshield is secured with one-piece flange/nut (nickel size flange). Which is correct? And if one-piece, does anyone have a picture of one?

    Thanks
    John

TH JM is correct. They are Yellow cadmium . 57 Passenger car used the same nut for the lower windshield moldings. There were two styles . One is a stamped steel and the other is a nut with a washer attached to it .There is a name for the nut but can not remember it .

The windshield nut GRP.12.110 is Fisher Body Div. part #4644959 and was in fact utilized before and after '57 on a multitude of cars. Interestingly it is described as NUT (w/rubber washer). The AIM shows part #4621332 which could be a production part #. That number does not show up beyond the AIM.

Dan's picture on the left looks like mine, washer is flatter, still concave but not to the degree of the one on the right.

Thanks for the information. Mine actually had the nut with washer on it. Just making sure I had correct ones.

Always called them "spinner washer nuts" because the washer spins. Of course the nut spins and the washer stays in place as they get tightened.
