    Keith,

Yes, what Don indicated is what I meant.

I worded my comment the way I did because I wanted you to understand two main points. First, case configuration is a Standard Deduct, you can not take a partial deduction. It is all or nothing.

Second, not taking a deduction is my opinion. Further I was try to present it in such a way that if another judge wanted to take a deduction, you would understand how to present your case for not taking the deduction.

Hi Don. Thanks for the clarification. I understand both points now. So to summarize - in judging the case configuration, it is a full 350 point deduct. No partial point deductions allowed.

In my case, it is the right block with the wrong plug so a Mechanical Judge would most likely only make a comment with no deduction as a full deduct would arguably be inappropriate.

Yes Kieth, Dennis and Don are giving you the correct advice. I am not sure ALL judges understand this part of the process, but YOU need to understand it. If a judge wants to do otherwise politely ask "why?" and if need be appeal to the Team Leader or Meet Judging Chairman.

If you bring your car to a Regional or National meet, look me up. I want to use it for the Advanced Judging Seminar. It will be a good example of this part of the judging process, and will give me a rare opportunity to emphasize it.

Thanks Terry. Good advice. My goal is to have it ready for Frisco this October. Mike McCagh offered to send me the correct plug so I guess that I'd better not install it if you want to use the car in an Advanced Judging Seminar!

Do as you wish. I can set up a scenario either way. Don't make your decision based on my desires. I don't get to judge any cars there, so follow your beliefs.
