What size is this bolt? This is the bolt that holds the front starter brace to the block. The bolt is in the AIM but no dimensions. AMK doesn't reproduce this bolt either.

Re: '67 SB front starter brace bolt #3848408
According to my notes the 3848408 bolt size is 5/16"-18 X 1/2". This is the same bolt that is used to attach the horns (See UPC 12, Sheet A5) in the 1966 and 1967 assembly manuals. The 3848408 horn bolts on my 1966 have the "RSC" marking on the bolt head, however, the starter bracket bolt on the 1966 w/327 is GM # 273867.

Re: '67 SB front starter brace bolt #3848408
Thank you David. That's one of those bolts that can't be seen, so I'll just source a correct size bolt and insert. Thanks again.Leif

David,
Everything else is there. I was checking solenoid wiring chasing down an intermittent starting issue when I noticed the bolt to block missing. Thanks for the reference.Leif

Re: '67 SB front starter brace bolt #3848408
Leif,
Attached below are 2 photos of an original 273867 bolt (5/16"-18 X 1/2") with "RBW" on the head. This bolt does not require a lock washer (see photo #2). This bolt came with the 1107247 starter dated 6E20 and 1114344 solenoid from a 1966 Chevrolet w/283 engine in a salvage yard in Massachusetts back in the 1980's. The 2 original starter bolts also have the "RBW".
Right now I do not have very good access to my 1966 Corvette to check the 3848408 bolts that attach the horns.
