    I believe you are correct. I have said it before I have stamped CI a lot when I was a patternmaker. Iron is hard & not very malleable & would dull the sharp edge of the stamp quickly. If some of the characters were used before & some Fairly new some would be changed some not.

      Ken, I have seen 4 the Same Dated Tonawanda 427 Stamping pads blocks that were all stamp the same day at the Tonawanda plant but all 4 Stamps pad look Different , and all 4 Stamping pads are 100% Original, so if someone has a Library of Stamping pad for a certain date and if someone wanted to confirm there Stamping pad with the one's in the Library claiming it a "Finger proof comparison" how would they compare it with if the stamp pad is real or not if there's 4 different samples of the stamp pad done on that same particular date, i agree what your saying Ken the character on the gangland holder do get dull after all those whacks and the character get change with different fonts from different suppliers, so how could it be possible that certain stamping pad would look all the same at that particular date .

          Some information i,am getting is from Tonawanda plant site explaining how the Stamping pad daily procedure is done at the plant explaining exactly what i ,am saying, i,am also gathering Stamping pad Information and photos from 427 Corvette owners for a Particular date that i,am researching and i,am seeing a differents in every Stamp pad photo, maybe you can explain Gene why theres a differents in stamping pad done on that particular day I,am going by the photos that i,am seeing.
