Re: Tonawanda 427-435 JE Stamp Pad
Not quite. The VIN was stamped on the engine and transmission on the line where they (engine and transmission) were mated. After that they were installed in the chassis.Terry- Top

Stamp VIN
Install Accessories
Engine oil and transmission fluid
Send to chassis line

Re: Tonawanda 427-435 JE Stamp Pad
I guess at the Tonawanda engine plant there was alot of Stamping Pad being whacked and I,am very surprise after stamping so many engine per day my guess is about 300, so how could it be possible that the stamping numbers meaning "Engine Stamp pad" at that particular day "claim" that all stamping pad should look the same in that certain day Claiming as of a fingerprint mark, the gangland holder after taken a beating like that all day by different day and night workers wouldn't you think the gangland fonts numbers & letters would wear or chip or been replaced and the spacing of the numbers changes and the depth of the sledge hammer hit's through out the day changes the look's of each and every stamp Pad done after so many whacks that day .Last edited by Guest; December 8, 2018, 01:05 PM.- Top
