    70-72 original pcv valves

Looking for input on a736c and a746c pcv valves. If you are pretty sure that yours is the original, factory-installed pcv valve, I would appreciate your input.
Is it lettered AC spark plug or AC rochester?
Does it have 4 or 8 small indentations around the body of the valve at the bottom?
Thank you in advance for looking.

    Hi Mike:
My one-owner late December built 1971 has its original PCV valve. It reads "AC Rochester type CV 736C" and has 8 dimples around the bottom. Best regards, Jim

Both of my 73 L82s have their original 746c PCVs and say AC spark plug and have four dimples.

          Mike-----

I believe stamped "AC Spark Plug" and 4 indentions was typical, if not exclusive to the period. I think that valves stamped "AC Rochester" with 8 indentions came along later. In fact, much later.

Also, valves dyed or otherwise colored came along much later. The early valves were zinc plated with no coloring.

Here is a photo of some on the AC-736-C PCV valves in my collection.
