Lots of bogus and misrepresented cars on ebay, thanks for heads up. I don't think that car is fooling anyone with knowledge.

Hopefully an informed buyer would expect much more documentation for a car claiming to be a ZR-1.

      Shiny paint though.

I have known this car for over 30 years. It started life as a 350 horse car. The owner at that time competed in NCCC speed events, and at the time to run LT-1 specs or reduce weight you had to be all or none. So the owner took measurements and photos of our LT-1, ordered a bunch of parts from GM and went to swap meets in around 1985. The car was built to the limits allowed by the rulebook at that time. This owner later stopped autocross competition and went drag racing only. The car was sold to another gentleman who started to autocross it again like you see in the photos for the most part. There was a roll bar, the reason for the cut outs in the rear deck, and want to say a bar forward through the front floor board.

In the late 90s or early 2000s the engine blew up, and was towed home in an enclosed trailer by a friend. During that trip the suburban crossed the median due to load shifting (theory from the friend). The trailer was struck in the front corner by a minivan busting the nose fiberglass. The nose is a replacement.

Based on this info that dealer is full of it. It has sold on eBay no less than 3 times, yet hadn’t changed hands. When it was first listed I did provide details to the dealer, which I suspect the previous owner disclosed. The car was never represented as a real LT-1 to the previous owner. The engine lock with stamping is horrible Restamp. The tach is clearly not correct, among other issues. I will say it was a fun, fast car and for a driver what could be a decent price.

The engine block VIN derivative and engine code are about the worst I've ever seen. Wrong everything. It's hard to imagine how someone could get it this wrong and even hope that it would be accepted as original.

I agree. It looks like Stevie Wonder did the stamping.

Have to click “see full item description”. The claims and stamping are a must be seen to fully appreciate.

You have to scroll way over to near the end of the photos.

In 1970 and maybe 1969 the letter after the Muncie date identifies the trans, A for M20, B for M21 and C for M22.

Seems the current bid reflects the fair value.......... And no one is fooled yet.
