Ball Joint Dust Boot- Can it be replaced separately?

The dust boot on my nearly new lower ball joint is torn.

Can the boot be replaced separately? Or does the entire ball joint assembly need to be replaced?

Mark Zip Corvette sells the correct ball joints for 35.00 each, not sure if the boots will work on originals. I have seen guys post here before looking for the lower boots with no luck.

It’s my opinion that it cannot be replaced because of the manufacturing process. You will need to find another lower ball joint. - Ron

I agree. The seals are attached to the body of the ball joint with a steel band-like retainer. I don't know of any way to remove it. Plus, even if it could be done, I know of no source for a replacement boot. GM never offered replacement boots for any 1965-82 Corvette ball joint.
