    1970 heater hose clamps

According to the 5th edition judging guide the 3/4" heater hose uses 1 3/16" clamps not 1 1/4" like the 68-69 manual says.

There a 4 clamps, The heater core to the expansion tank and from expansion tank to the water pump.

Do all 4;locations use the 1 3/16" wittek DCM stamped clamps?

I also need to verify that no 1 1/4" clamps are used for 1970

    Thanks, Rick

    Rick,

The 3/4" hose from the water pump to the heater box uses two 1 3/16" tower clamps with DCM on them and plated with DiChroMate.

The 5/8" hose from the intake manifold to the heater box uses two 1 1/16" tower clamps with the date of the quarter on them.

The hose from the expansion tank to the radiator uses two single screw type clamps.

      Hi Allen,
Doesn't the 3/4" hose pass through the expansion tank requiring a total of 4 clamps?
      Thanks, Rick

        Rick,

You are correct. The 5/8" hose is connected to the expansion tank between the intake manifold and heater box, and it requires two 1 1/16" tower clamps with the quarter on them. In the AIM, you can see this on UPC 11/13, Sheet B6.
