Re: battery source
I don't typically talk about judging or get involved. I am the food guy of our chapter.
We are judging the cars the way they came down the St. Louis assembly line. So if you don't have the right parts a deduction is "earned".

Re: battery source
If you have a real spare it's a 2 point deduction. Each tire is worth 6 points or a total of 30 points ( five tires ). If you have a real spare then it's 4 * 6 = 24 then a 10% deduction = 2.4, then you round down to a 2 point deduction.

Re: battery source
I would like to see the repro and currentOEM "Delco" group 24 maintenance free battery get a little more leniencyin the std. deduction guide.
I do drive my cars to the NCRS events and have them judged. Knowing that thebattery is going to work when needed eases my anxiety when leaving on a longtrip. Saying that, I know that even the current maintenance free batteries canfail. I've been using them for years with no problems even the recent ones I'veinstalled, not so for the repro battery that I bought in 2014. As fortires, I have the correct original spares in both of my C2 cars. I run thecorrect size/side wall OEM radial and take the points deduction which I am finewith.
