checking tri power end carb diaphrams

Should the end carb diaphragms hold vacuum when checking with a Mityvac? i checked my 5 end carbs I have and none hold vacuum. Is there any way to determine if they work or not come short of driving the car? Thanks.

    Mark,

I don't believe you can check them like that, check if there is a air bleed hole in the secondary venturi. if it's like a regular vacuum secondary carburetor this hole is connected to the vacuum passage going to the diaphragm. If it's there plug it with putty or your finger then pull a vacuum on the diaphragm.

Timothy is correct.....use your pinky to block the vent then use your mityvac to check operation.
