Question On 1968 Engine Eye Lifts(Brackets)>L36 Vs L68's

Still working on my Man Cave L36 display engine.(Picture Below) AFAIK the front (Drivers Side)
double hole pull was taken off at St.Louis on the L68's(Due to fuel line)-Question>Was it left on
L36 engines? On the back the judging manual indicates the single hole lift bracket was attached
to the head. (I have seen some attached to the back intake manifold;probably not correct)
Question>Was this left on both L36's and L68's? Thanks in advance--Larry

My opinion, yes the L36 used a front lift bracket off the LH front two intake manifold bolts. Fig. M 7.8 in the 5th Edition 68-69 TIM&JG shows the bracket.

Also my opinion, I believe both L36 and L68 also had the rear lift eye.

I'll be looking at a couple very original 68 tri-power cars tomorrow. I'll double check they have the rear lift bracket, but pretty sure they do.

I own a low mileage (37 K ) two owner 68 with an L-36 and both the front and rear brackets. Also the rear is attached to the passenger side head, difficult to see. Rich

Thanks Gary and Richard for the responses. On the back eye pull need to know if it is just a straight rectangle
or is it a rectangle with a 90 Degree bend in it. If it does have a bent is the bent facing the bottom of the engine
or the side the the engine? Thanks again. Larry

It is just a straight rectangle. Bolts on the upper, inner bolt, closest to the intake.
