The cluster was already out. I pulled the glove box, disconnected both ends of the cable and had it out in 20 minutes. Now to try to lube the monster.

I just sat for a minute and looked at the cable. The fan switch is attached so I decided not to flood the cable with oil or fluid film. I cleaned the portion of the cable I could see then wiped dielectric grease on the area I cleaned. After 100 + in/out action it works fine. not real easy but not hard at all to move.

Saying that you may be able to lube the cable while in the car. Pull it out as far as you can, clean what you can see then apply the dielectric grease and work it in and out.

Harry,

I bet that powdered graphite for locks if you can find it would work great for this cable lube, won't make a mess either.

Observation:

There was no screw used in the lower glove box frame on the LH side. It appears a screw wan never installed there probably because the A/C duct is in the way.

Have any other C2 A/C owners seen this?

The hole by the yellow tape is not used.
