    65 A.O. Smith job number behind dash

    what do you make of this number behind the dash cluster on the cross brace




    this is on the bulk head and the same number is else where on the car

    My recollection is that this is your key code...it should match the number on the key knock offs and on the body of the ignition cylinder.

        Gene the job number is I 445. I think Donald is on to something about key code

          Keith, did you check to see if the key # aligns with this #?

          If you look farther down the frame under the dash towards the glove box there is a built # . This is the one i’m Referring too.

          The “key” number is not common to find marked on this frame member. Neat find if it is indeed the key #.

            This car is at my dads garage and I called and asked him to look at the key code. Hasn’t called me back. I’ll have to look further for more numbers I was pressed for time. I haven’t took enough of these cars apart to see all these little difference

                Keith, It is definitely the Key Code number. I've seen it many times (too many to count). As long as your locks have not been changed, this will match what is stamped on them.
