Re: Best C6 for the Valve/money
I would also highly endorse the Z06 recommendation. The wide body alone is worth the price of admission. I would also recommend blue tooth and controls on the steering wheel. I bought my 05 a couple years back as it only had 4k miles on it. Good luck with the hunt, post pic of what you end up with.

Re: Best C6 for the Valve/money
I have '08 Z06 also, first new Corvette I've ever bought to date. I love the car and even though I don't drive it enough due to work. I agree with Terry, the Michelins made a big difference in noise reduction. I bought a rear compartment rug mat that covered the entire rear compartment floor and that also made a difference in noise.
I've not had the problem with the fuel pump leakage as described above, but then again since the car doesn't get driven that often, I don't normally fill the tank over 1/2 full unless I am going a long distance. Will the GM dealer replace the fuel pump if you present them with the service bulletin?
Thanks,
James
I bought a sound absorbing "kit" that consists of a heavy rubber-like material (about 1/2-inch thick) for the rear compartment and behind the seats. It sits on top of the carpet. It made a big difference, but the biggest sound reduction was the switch from Goodyear to Michelin tires. I have since added a Dymatt-like product under the carpet and in the doors (we had the carpet and door panels out for a color change). This made another significant reduction in road sound, but some road surfaces still result in a lot of noise.Last edited by James W.; January 3, 2018, 01:54 PM.- Top
