An L-72 w/ 4.11 gears and skinny goldlines in snow-covered Charlotte? No wonder the 20 year old owner is smiling, and smoking, now that the car is safely parked in the driveway.

Apparently this business still exists in New Brunswick NJ. I have to wonder if the car still exists and if it does what it looks like now.

The first 53' was finished on June 30th, note the magazine date, July 1953. This could be one of the earliest publications of the famous photo of the first three Corvettes.

That custom in the top picture was still here in Omaha in the mid 1990's... not that you would want to own it.

i'll bet the good Rev would buy it, if the price was less than a C note. better yet, a parishioner would give it to him. mike

James I don’t think that exact one. That very car is an NCRS top flight car. It was original motor, tranny, and rear. Exterior and interior needed work.
As Dan Adie suggested , Acme fiberglass in San Francisco made and sold that nose, and it was cheaper than doing front fiberglass front end repair.

                              Jim,

That is a great photo of two Corvettes battling it out on the race track!!! I also love the OLD cars in the background.

two 57's going at it but the ideal vehicle is that 50 Nash ambassador in the upper right hand corner. those Nashes had fully reclining front seats. when I was 17 years old, choosing between a 57 vet and a mobile bedroom would have taken some time. mike, who at 73 would take the vet.
