My first Corvette a 1979 L82. Bought the car in San Antonio, Texas and shipped it to Panama on my reassignment to Howard AFB. I was just a young Airman with barely 3 years in the Air Force. This picture was taken in what was then the US Panama Canal Zone.

On the beach at Daytona, around "spring break" 1975; drove down from Montreal. My tool box, sleeping bag and pup tent is all I needed. Car is '65 VIN 12555, originally silver/red L79, Canadian dealer sold new.

Here's a shot through the fence at the St.Louis Corvette plant, in 1973 (per the silver and red cars visible). Weren't allowed to bring a camera inside on a plant tour. Also, shots of a car hauler on highway 50, at a truck stop east of the plant. The window sticker is on the Ontario Orange LT1 Looks like late 1972 production #. Wonder if the car still exists ?

For all of you relative "newbies" to the followers of Corvette history, sideroads, adjustments and just small little variances of note, please notice that these 44 year old pictures by a tourist from western Canada through the mid-continent USA to pacify a "disease" and other notations over the years
have resulted in Wayne being referred to by those who are aware as "MISTER MIDKIFF". Keep it in mind - and ask questions when you can.
