Rear Leaf Spring, 1964, Regular Suspension

Need some advice/help. Detailing the rear suspension and need to replace the rear leaf(9).
Question, better to go original or reproduction? Found a "new" spring from Corvette Stop
Restoration Services out of California. Thanks for the advice/support.

    Jim,
It depends on if you plan to have the car judged. The current new springs work great but will take a deduction if judged. (I painted my new spring the correct color before I installed it a few years ago.)
    Good luck,
    Don H.

      Jim,

America's Finest Corvettes in California makes a repro 9-leaf spring that supposedly will not garner a deduct. The downside is the price.

        Jim,
I replaced the main spring on my 64 (standard suspension) - I got the single 9th main spring from Eaton. Not cheap but aesthetically it is a perfect match to an original, angle of end cuts and all. I had my 8 other leafs sand blasted and then painted them. I purchased a "restoration kit from Quanta - their liners are nice and appear to be the correct length. I also got the "grey" paint from Quanta. End cups for the spring is another whole story. I have to do some records research to recall where I got mine. PM me or call if you want to discuss this farther.

Why do you think you need to replace it?

Duke, the current spring is a newer unit w/out the flaring up so to speak at the ends.
I am trying to get anything not original to factory repaired/replaced.
