Late 1957 Thottle arm Carburator cars

Do the lat 57 radio delete cars still have the hole in the throttle arm for the ground strap. If so what size hole is it and is it threaded. Is the hole 1 1/2 inches down from center or the throttle rod hole .Carburetor cars .

Dan, I don't have direct experience with a Non FOA 102 '57, but I did some research which may help.

1957 AIM Sec 6 Sheet 5 (Base Engine) shows the Lever, 3743068. It shows a hole for a ground strap. I checked my P&A books and it shows only that part# for the Lever and no other, so I would surmise it is the same Lever for a Non-Radio car.

I'm unsure if the hole was threaded or not. The Screw, Part#164352, would need research. If it's identified as a machine screw, then the Lever hole would have been threaded. If a self-threading screw, it appears to me that the hole was not threaded.

FOA 102 Radio Sheet 4 does not show a unique part# for the Lever.

The only place that screw show up again that i can find is on the power top switch that goes under the convertible top cover by the latch.RPO 473 sheet 4.00 I do not have a power top car to look at .Looks like it holds the switch together.Page 106 in th JM shows a good picture of the end of the screw . Looks like a machine screw . The throttle bracket is a little thick for a small sheet metal screw .

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling it was a #8.

Joe, it appears the JG needs a notation.

Rich, No notation-- REVISE! The bolt chart in the 6th edition of the 56-57 JM was a good idea. Unfortunately a lot of the information listed is inaccurate. There is at least 5 components on page 231 alone that are either missing, not complete or incorrect. If your top flight car was restored using some of this info you would have to return your certificate.
