    Rusty fuse block

My 1967 survived Irma but the fuse block now has rusty fuse connectors and the tail but the tail lights still don't work. It is a tad loose on the hot side. Is there any quick fixes to this problem. The car still has the original dash harness and a replacement engine harness. Thanks Bill

I assume your car was under water at some point to get the rusty connectors. I'd recommend removing ALL the wiring and inspecting the connections for corrosion. As a minimum I'd bead blast all the terminals of the entire wiring harness. The fuse block may need to be replaced if the rust is heavy, especially on the "wire" side

Bill, I recommend a product call DeoxIT D5. Comes in a small spray can, available at Radio Shack and other electronic retailers.

      Dissolves Corrosion
      Improves Connections
      Protects Surfaces

I have used this product with good results on rusty fuse boxes in the past.

      Good Luck !!

I would recommend replacing the harness. The rust is evident on what you see. If you were to cut into that harness, you would see other evidence of corrosion. Just not worth the risk!
