    Cigarette Lighter Lamp

My 1963 Casco lighter has no lamp fixture, bulb or separate wiring associated with a lighting function.
Questions: #1 Do all lighters in 1963 have a lamp function?
#2 Is there a separate harness for the lamp or is the lamp powered by the lighter wire?
#3 Does the lighter housing bulb shade mount on the female lighter housing?
    Thanks for your help,
    Gene

Gene the outer housing should have cut out and two slots on each side for the hooded light socket to clip into . The socket shoud be on a grey single wire .hope this helps you...peter ..another 63 owner.

Hello again, When I try to purchase a wire with spring bulb holder that fits the shield, all venders only sell one that goes up to 1962. What do you recommend? I appreciate your help. Gene

Gene, the wire to the bulb is part of the wiring harness. If it's not hanging there loose then someone may have cut it off. See if you can find a spot in the harness where electrical tape has been added. If so remove the tape and look for the wire. You can get the socket and probably the wire off an old harness at a swap meet. The original harness wrapping has no adhesive on it so it's easy to spot the electrical tape.

Someone must have a picture with the cluster out that shows the wire. I looked I don't have one.

Gene you didn't waste much time getting back to work after Redmond! I sent you a photo of some bulb wires off a 63 harness I have for parts, you can have what you need.

Edit... I got this totally wrong. Sorry, my brain was thinking IGN switch. I'll just leave it here. But I think the Lighter Lamp socket can be seen to the right of the IGN lamp bracket below, so maybe it'll help a little anyway.

The 1963 in unique. The lamp bracket and wire is part of the Main Harness. It is attached to the Cluster with a screw. Shown below at a bad angle(between the R and K or the PARKING BRAKE handle).

This is the only shot I have of a lamp, from another source, which someone cut and added a terminal.

To possibly redeem my error, here's a shot of a '67 Lighter assembly which may help.

Gene, thanks for bringing your car to Redmond. It is very nice. Glad the members could give you pictures to help with your lighter lamp. I am seeing a higher score on your swc next time.

I know this has been asked and answered, but just came across this doc which has the lighter harness / connector as well as everything else from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter NCRS
