    Re: 1965 396 Fuel Pump

    Jimmy, I purchased p/n 352075 from Corvette Central in 2014 for my L78. All fuel lines are stock and all bolted to new pump w/o any issues. Car is driven couple of time a week and it was working great this morning. It looked just like the pump I removed, which I doubt was an original. I have no idea if it will pass flight judging (if it is a judged component). Regards ---

      Jimmy,

      I used a fuel pump bought from Goat Hill on the '65 396 when I restored it. Went through all levels of flight judging with no deductions. The car is VIN #2216x.

        Does anyone rebuild an original fuel pump for a 396?

            Zip shows new pumps for $279.99
            Also had this note;
            New OE-style 1965 Late 396 - 1966 427 Corvette fuel pump with "AC" casting as original. Correct steel crimp design includes original GM part number 40366 stamped in casting. Note: 1965-1966E 396/427 fuel pumps use a round lower fitting. Late 1966 427 Corvette pumps use a square lower fitting. Early pumps were used until approximately 01/1966.

            No idea if they will pass judging.

              Re: 1965 396 Fuel Pump

              In my picture archives I could only find one picture of a fuel pump on a unrestored '65 396 Bow Tie car, serial #17,64x that was on display at the 2008 National Convention.

                James, That's the same configuration as the one on mine(#16786) and stamped 40366. I don't believe it has ever been replaced but can't swear to it.
