Faulty sensor on Airbag code 25

I am looking for anyone that might have a Tech Service Bulletin that addresses the fault and the relief of said milady.
I was informed by a very knowledgeable C-4 judge at Bloomington, this past June, that it might be a grounding problem.
I went looking for the little offender but I have no joy in finding it or what it looks like.

Can anyone help me to locate the sensor and instructions on how to repair or replace. It might be a grounding problem.

Re: Airbag Sensor fault code 25

Ed - found this on an Google is My Friend search - According to Gordon Killebrew, "If fault codes 15,16,25 or 26 are set, refer to GM bulletin 90-436-9J. There may be corrosion between the right or left uniframe impact sensors and the uniframe." The sensors are bolted to the frame rail and they use the bolts/mounting tabs as a ground. The fix is to remove the sensors and clean up the tab and frame area and apply some di-electric grease and use star washers on the remount. So if you clean the sensors and the frame like I suggest and reset the light you should have no more problems. Of course there is a possibilty it could be a bad sensor, but more than likely it will be a bad ground(the sensor to the frame). If all else fails Gordon is only a phone call away.....................

Ed - as a follow-up, they placed the sensors in corrosive areas on the frame rails at the wheel openings and under the battery. There is also one up under the steering column inside. Hope you can find them..............

Thanks Rick. I talked to Tom Barr and he had the same problem on a rear sensor. I guess I have to take off the fined plate on the Pass. side,
then remove the inner fender panel. then look for the "YELLOW WIRE'.OH BOY, ALSO Tom said be sure to turn off the battery or I may suffer
the same surprise I did during the Mech session for my Cross Flag judging. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN I WILL RETURN!

            Ed,

Looking at the 1996 Service Manual - Ground for LH/RH Discriminating Sensors and Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM) is Ground 106 (G106) located LH rear of Engine near Oil Filter not exactly help on your 1990.

However, if you have 1990 Service Manual look in front section of Electrical Diagnosis (1996 Section 8A-14-2 for G106) for "Ground Distribution". Look for "Discriminating Sensors" and "DERM" on wiring diagrams - you won't find reference to SIR / Air Bags / Supplemental Inflatable Restraint / etc on those diagrams.

Narrative description of location should follow a few pages later in Service Manual. Perhaps why grounds were moved from frame to engine.
