Re: one of back wheels very hot to touch----other wheels fine
If you're sure it's not a brake problem, then I'd say it's a rear wheel bearing problem. Before I got into that, though, I'd want to be certain it's not actually a brake problem. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Tom, the post from Ed maybe be on the right track if you find the adjustment where it's suppose to be. a imploded hose is the inner layer of the hose clasping closed and holding the brake on. generally what I would do is jack up the rear wheel, before you touch the pedal and see if it spin's freely, If okay, then step on pedal once and see if the wheel is locked, this will confirm a hose Issue.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Thanks for all the help....I will check wheel tomorrow. Doubt its a hose since the entire car and braking system has less than 1000 miles since rebuild. I feel it is probably a brake problem.- Top

Thomas,
Complete Rebuild? That include the rear wheel bearings?
Is the wheel hot or the tire hot?
When going down the road does the car pull left or go straight when you let go of the steering wheel.
Need more facts and research from you!

Re: one of back wheels very hot to touch----other wheels fine
Sometimes it pays to go back and do a QA check on brake work....there are several 'gotchas' that can come into play...
The self adjusting torpedoes have to go on the proper side; there is usually an "L" or an "R" on the end of the piece as an indicator.
I've seen the long spring across the adjuster installed backwards so that the pawl was in a bind....and on and on..
Its a few minutes to pop the drums off and take a look see.- Top

Everything rebuilt, brake lines, cylinders, trailing arms, etc. I am thinking its a sticking emergency brake, like in adjusted too tight. Am going to look into that today. Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.- Top
