Re: 95 Opti Spark Dist. question
Ed,
Optisparks are cheap on e-bay and I am careful to NOT wash the engine and try to keep the leaks to a minimum. You can buy over 10 Optisparks on e-bay for what one Accel Dist. costs. Yes, it's a pain in the rear to change them but it saves money in the long run.

Re: 95 Opti Spark Dist. question
Well, GM and AC-Delco still offer a 95-96 Opti-Spark. Officially, it's a rebuilt unit although the actual part might be new. The part number is GM #19212300. The problem is that it carries a GM list price of over 700 bucks + $75 core charge. However, you can buy this unit a lot cheaper through discount GM dealers or AC-Delco dealers.
My guess would be that this unit is about the best one could do for a replacement. As I've said many times before, Opti-Sparks are the "Achille's Heel" of Gen II small blocks. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 95 Opti Spark Dist. question
Go to rock auto just bought two GM . Do not know if they have been rebuilt but i will tear down one to see if they have the Mitsubitchi optical disc. They were under a grand less if you give up your core $375.00 give or take.- Top
