    C7 Cut Off Switch

Anyone install a battery cut off switch in their C7 ?????
Have not looked at the battery yet.
Not sure if it a top post or a side post

Won't that cause you to put all your user options in every time you reconnect the battery, or is there some sort of memory that doesn't require power?

      Rich,
I am told that all I my loose is the window indexing.

I believe the C7 is top post -- my C6 is top post. On battery disconnect all one loses on the C6 is the window indexing, but I can't speak to the C7.

I have heard this fused bypass circuit battery shutoff switch will qualify as a shut-off switch, since the car can't be started but it keeps a small amount of current flowing through the car's electrical system to retain everything.

            Dick,

Thanks. I had a C6 Z06 and it was top post. I thought I lost radio pre sets once when I let the battery go too low, but it was probably caused by something else. I'm sure you guys are correct.

Easier to just unhook battery terminal on C7. I didn't loose anything last time. Doesn't mean it won't loose something though on a C7.

Gee Ken, that is a lot different than a C6.

I didn't even show what is under the black cap on left side. And you better carry a battery lift device with you if you ever have to remove the battery or better have very strong fingers.

Ken, The positive post is under the black cap.
I am just going to disconnect the negative cable.

Wow! It sure is! And I thought the C6 was tight and inaccessible............

What else is under the rest of the black package? Is that the "battery saver" equipment, or is it a charging apparatus?

This is what is under that black cover to the left of the battery. Are you looking to do a battery disconnect or something to shut off the engine? If the latter, do you need it to be readily accessable from the drivers seat? The one I did had the switch mounted to the roll cage, but I'm sure yours is a street car.
