Guys,
I've read the very helpful prior posts on this subject but still have a couple of questions on the topic. I have attached several photos to help illustrate my issues.
1) It isn't clear to me in the AIM on the boomerang shielding where the front part of that shielding bolts to. It seems to be a perfect fit to bolt to the rear motor mount bolt but wanted to clarify.
2) Are the plug wires meant to travel in/behind this shielding as much as possible? If that is the case it would seem the plug wires would need to travel behind the boomerang shields and then pass between the motor mount and block. Is that the case?
3) I purchased a set of restored shielding and was given two pieces with the round hole that I believe is meant for the water temp unit. Prior posts have indicated which one is correct for the water temp unit on my engine but it would seem I need a different one to replace the extra water temp hole shield I have. Thoughts?
4) The AIM calls out three different part #'s for the plug heat shields but I only have two types in the restored set I purchased. the prior posts have mentioned that the "V" style one that is intended to go above the water temp unit doesn't work and I used the same style heat shield at the water temp unit as I used on the right rear as the prior post instructed. Is the final verdict that the "V" style shield is incorrect and this is just a flaw of the AIM?
5) Are the vertical dist box mounts (shown) and plug wire brackets (not pictured) all supposed to be orange? I'm fairly sure they are (since they are listed in the AIM as "engine" meaning they came with the engine) but wanted to be sure before I painted them. Also, I would assume they were painted on the engine so they're attaching bolts are also painted, correct?
Thanks for your assistance,
Mike
