Ok Mike - add up the AMA base shipping and add all your factory installed options, how close is it to your MSO weight?

John, I posted that above. MSO says 3285, AMA calculation is 3392.

        Re: Vehicle weights

I would guess it is impossible for identically equipped mass produced Corvettes to weigh exactly the same amounts there are just so many variables in the construction of these cars. Is every fiberglass panel the exact same thickness and weight, how much bonding material was used to put the body together, how much paint and primer was used, how much undercoating, how much fuel was put in the tank. There are several different manufacturers of tires do they all weigh the same, how much weight was used to balance the wheels. There are a few assembly line tasks that are done free hand and vary from installer to installer and car to car.

In the 53-82 GM Corvette parts catalog the weight of the options and base car can be found.

Lyle, can you tell me more? I have a number of old P&A catalogs from 1956 to 1982. The only reference I recall is in group 7.000 where it gives sprung weight values front and rear. The earliest data I've found in those begins with 1973's. Where have I missed it?
            Thanks,
            Mike
