Does the AIM show the replacement part with the screw and is there anything in the Revision Record box with a date change?

If so there will be a circled number next to the part picture and reference# in the Revision info. I don't have my AIM handy.

Since the subject of these two threads is the same, I have merged them. Troy, Rich Yanulis has the caps shown in the pics in his posts here, and should be able to give you all the dimensions to have these little buggers made up. Suggest you make some extras for Jerry.

Makes you wonder if you could make them on a 3D printer. No, they would not be metal, but it would be a lot less expensive.

That would be great. Just part of the finishing touch for my car.

            Thanks

TIM&JG FROM NCRS: Says pot metal on page 15, in part 2. of Interior Judging. Timing on convertibles is not specific.

More is said about coupes and convertibles, WRT the stainless versions.

Yes 3D printing is a great idea. Plastic would be ok but metal can be done also.

Thing is you need an original one to scan in order to create the program. One the other hand if we had an original we could easily make a mould and cast them out of lead.

Anyone out there willing to have theirs scanned??

I just found a pristine pair of these pot metal pinch welds. I really don't want them to leave my "hands". Can a company with a scanner and 3-d printer remake these out of pot metal?

I doubt it would be pot metal as they usually print a powdered metal. However, the end result would appear very similar if not the same.

They could be metal but not pot metal. Could be plastic too. Depends on what you want.

I can have it done but they have to leave your hands to be scanned.

Got them from Joe I assume.

Thanks Troy. I will look for a company close to CT.

One with a 3D printer that prints in metal.

Seriously, Google can be your friend here.
A prototyping company comes to mind, but the internet is filled with sources.

This is an old thread but was wondering if anybody had luck getting them reproduced. 3D printing would be the way to go.
