Re: Speedometer Cable
Although I haven't check the Corvette parts suppliers, most replacement cables I've seen are cut to length and a squared end attached. So you would cut the new one to match the old or if you don't have an old one I suppose you would use the housing to determine the length. A word of caution, do NOT use a plastic end (the squared piece you attach). I just had to pull my dash to get the broken plastic end out of the tach. Also the kits I have seen use an anvil type piece to squash the metal end to the cable which can distort it. I would recommend soldering the end on. Good luck, Don H.- Top

Re: Speedometer Cable
Corvette Central shows it to be 72" If it were me I would replace the cable and housing as the cable ends are better, it is a new, pre-lubed with no burrs on the inside and they are only $30.
Don't know about the grille teeth but it may also be listed on CC as Jerry the owner started that business 40 years ago making grille teeth.- Top

Re: Speedometer Cable
the 53 to 57 grill oval is marked on the back with a GM part number - the repro number looks different than a real GM part
Also the teeth have the part number and a single number
The single number is cast way down on the inside towards the point of the tooth. The Center and largest tooth is cast with a "C"1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,
