1972 Engine Code stamp - authentic?

    Thank you to all that have responded. There are enough doubts regarding that LT1 stamping that I am going to forego any additional follow-up with that car.

      David, just one quick question for you, do the series of numbers to the left, I believe it's called the vin derivative match the vin plate on the windshield pillar?, if so, is the 5th digit of the VIN a L ?, if so, that would lead me to believe that the engine came out of a real LT-1

        Roy - yes, the VIN derivative stamped into the block matches the VIN plate on the vehicle, and the 5th character of the VIN is indeed an L. However, even the VIN derivative stamped into the block does not have the best appearance. Thanks.

          This is the stamp pad from my June build LT-1. Per Roy's post above, I can delete if not helpful.

            I will take his opinion over the self professed experts. You know the one(s) you have to pay for their opinion. One especially that used one of the authority's restamps in a presentation of original stamps
