Re: 64 327/365HP Oil Pan
Someone is correct except it is actually a 5 qt. pan making total capacity with oil filter canister 6 qts. Has longer lower part that takes away room for steering stabilizer or power steering piston. There is a trapdoor in the lower part and windage tray hanging from main bearing cap studs to control oil slosh.

Re: 64 327/365HP Oil Pan
Your friend is correct in that the SHP 64 365 or 375 had a special pan with an extra quart including the oil filter. The last part number listed was 359942. You can find this puppy on E-bay for $1800.00 in the GM box with the flat windage tray included.
And you can't add PS to this pan if you wish.

Yes, the GM #359942 was the last available "6 quart" pan. It differed from the original GM #3820001 only with respect to the front oil pan gasket seal radius. Neither pan is currently reproduced. However, there are some NOS examples of the 359942 on eBay for less than $1,800. The $1,800 dollar one will probably be for sale for a LONG time, at least until the lesser cost ones are sold.
Not that many applications require this style pan and that's probably why it's not reproduced. Tooling for an oil pan like this is very expensive and if the market is small, it just doesn't"pencil out".
The only applications requiring this pan are 1963-65 with mechanical lifters, possibly a few early 1965 L-79, some early 1970 with LT-1, and all 1970-72 ZR-1. No other Corvette or other Chevrolet applications ever originally used this oil pan.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 64 327/365HP Oil Pan
Here's some pictures of one I sold. You should be able to find a real nice one for less than 300. Don't buy one with heavy rust you won't be happy with the pitting.
SOLD I have a "6 Qt", long sump, trap door oil pan intended for the "Special high performance" small block 63-65 solid lifter, fuel injected and no P/S LT1. Nice paint, only a few tiny nicks, ready to bolt up and includes bolts. This is a very nice pan, beat up rusty ones have sold for more. No repairs, No welds, No bondo, minor dents as seen, Good drain plug and threads.
$275. plus 15. shipping- Top

Re: 64 327/365HP Oil Pan
One of the tell tale signs of an original 3820001 is a rectangular nut plate is spot welded on the inside of the pan to accept the drain plug. The later oil pan, 359942, has a hex nut spot welded inside the pan.
