1970 Courtesy and Door Ajar Switches

Does anyone have a source for (SX) 1970 Courtesy and Door Ajar Switches?

The ones from Lectric Limited are longer than the originals.

These are not the same as the 69-74. The 69-74 used GM #3928753 for the courtesy lamp switch and GM #3929804 for the door ajar switch. Both are GM-discontinued but available in reproduction. There are also quite a few NOS examples of the 3929804 still around but I don't know if the later SERVICE examples still had the "SX" embossment on the head.

Could it be they are longer because when installed at the factory they were self adjusting and actually collapsed inside the shell to set the switches.

          Just a thought.

          Kind Regards,

The last ones available that Joe mentioned did not have the correct head markings. The 1975 and newer are totally different, including the type of electrical connection.

John, check an ebay seller called ( glenn454 ). I've bought c3 used parts from him before and he's reasonable on pricing. He has a number of those switches on now in different conditions. It's a gamble buying used parts like switches but these are originals. Good luck

                  John,
I have purchased several NOS ones with the correct type of receivers for the electrical connectors over the years. I have then removed the SX pins from my old ones and swapped them with the new ones. That has worked for me.

                      John, check out Ecklers. http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...1968-1974.html
I have looked at them but have not purchased, so I cannot attest to the quality, but it is worth a try.
