A long search has come to an end. I was lucky enough to speak with George Nosky this evening. He has a great memory of his car and was able to identify every feature of the car and each one matched exactly. This was Don Yenko's car and was raced by him at Marlboro, Cumberland, and Nelsons Ledges and possible Lime Rock. George Nosky was friends with Don Yenko and purchased the car from him in 1959 or 1960. Here is a photo of the car when owned by George. George commented on several minor details of the car, specifically he mentioned that Yenko hit a hay bail during a race and cracked the front left fender. I will show pictures of the damage. George also said that after the contact, Yenko removed all of the chrome trim from the coves and also removed the fake factory hood scoops from the car. He confirmed many other facts about the car before I even asked. Thanks to Clem! and George! More to come of course....

That's awesome that you tracked down George Nosky. Really cool that you can put all the pieces of the cars early history back together. I look forward to you sharing more.

I met MARK GILLISPIE from Indy yesterday. He is a YENKO Historian and worked at YENKO CHEVROLET IN 1967. He owns a YENKO CORVAIR STINGER. The story will, get better from here. He wants David and father in law to take the car ''as is'' to the PITTSBURGH VINTAGE GRAND PRIX July 15 weekend. So much to do, so little time. Stay tuned...........

            David, REALLY cool '57!

Is that George driving the car in your photo? Are you going to go and meet him? If he's willing, it would be good to record him talking about the car. Nobody lives forever.

Wow. That's really cool news Jim. I will have to try to make it back to Pittsburgh for the Grand Prix. My Dad (Pittsburgher) and I usually try to make it. It's such an awesome event.

Here is a picture of Yenko in May of 1959 racing at Cumberland. This 192 car is what we believe to be the car. Same roll bar and fake hood scoops on front fenders are removed. I also include pictures of the race program. Don raced in Production class B. You can see his name and car number under class B.
