Jerry - If you look from the back side of the ignition lock cylinder you will see even on the original lock cylinders that are provisions for 2 "poke" holes but the original one for Chevys had the bezel that only had one hole & that was for the upper "poke" hole for the release pin in the switch. Some other GM cars & or trucks had ignition switches the used the same configuration ignition lock cylinder guts but with the a bezel with the lower "poke" hole because that lined up with the release in those switches. It is my understanding that the replacement ignition lock cylinders with the bezel with the 2 "poke" holes was so the Parts Department & other suppliers needed to only stock the one ignition lock cylinder with the 2 "poke" holes because that lock cylinder would work on more cars & trucks.
