Just tried to start 67 435 car for the 1st time ( fresh restoration) the motor will fire and run ,but, it will only fire and run when the ignition switch is in the start position ( yes the starter is engaged ,so i cant run it for only a second ) any ideas ?

The switch has run position internally , to keep the engine running once you let the key go. I would suspect the switch. hope this helps Jeff- Top

Paul, Do you have a photo of the Pink wire that comes out of the firewall along with the wires for the wiper motor. This is the wire that feeds the ignition system once the key is back on the start location. I have seen this connection go bad several times.- Top

Re: 1967 435 start/ wont keep running electrical ?
Yes, either a bad IGN switch(Pink lead terminal) or as Joe says a open on the #12G Pink wire coming out of the firewall to the right of the wiper motor. This connects to the White(resistor) lead in the TI harness to power the TI module. With IGN ON, I'd put a voltmeter at both points to isolate the fault.
The #12G Pink is supplying power to the TI module during RUN(IGN ON). If it only fires in START, the fault could also be a open circuit of the TI harness to the TI Module. If so, the resistor wire or the internally soldered connections inside the TI harness may be open.
Either way, the symptom of it firing off in START is because during START, the Solenoid R terminal is supplying full cranking voltage to the TI module which bypasses the main feed from the #12G Pink IGN source. This is similar in design to the Points distributor ignition system which bypasses the Ballast Resistor during START.
I should modify the CSM schematic below a bit more to show the "SOL R Terminal" actually being connected to BAT+ and a more detailed diagram of the "SWITCH"(Ignition Switch).
