RIP Noland --- I'll always remember that day, almost 29 years ago, when I and a friend dropped by your place, primarily to buy a copy of your Volume 2. After at least a half hour living room chat with you and Mary, you left us for a few minutes, and came out with my purchase. You didn't even ask me if I wanted it autographed; You already knew what to write.

I had a three year stint in Sacramento in the early 90's and I was able to visit with Noland on occasion. He signed his book in my garage and noted that. We also looked at a rare '67 Corvette with a 400 HP motor that was for sale. JC was stamped over IL and claimed to be original. Noland noted to me that when he looked at the same car 17 years earlier his notes showed it was a 390 horse with no over stamp. He had great records.

Noland's passion for the hobby was huge and he would always do his best to answer questions. He would visit us in the Midwest and share his knowledge. Godspeed my friend!

RIP, and it is so sad to lose such knowledge and a role model for all of us Corvette people. You will be missed.

So many of the pioneers of the Corvette hobby are passing on. Noland was one of the greats. We are all better for having known him.

I had the pleasure of organizing a roast for Noland at the 2007 SACC National Convention at St. Charles , Il.
A kind and generous person who I was very lucky to know.
                          Rest in Peace old friend.

I will never forget right after I bought my '59 in 1986, the first thing I ever wanted was to get his Volume 1. Every night after work after we got the 3 boys to bed, my wife and I would relax on the couch with the TV on. I had his book in my lap all night, paging through and learning more and more, just amazed at the information I could scour through night after night.

Thank You Noland for all of the help you gave me for the last 30+ years. Your passion has helped me have a passion like none other before.

Sincere condolences to your family and Rest Peacefully in Corvette Heaven. You were, and always will be a Corvette Hero to me.
