I thought you might like to see this stamp I found on my 67's fuel tank & perhaps shed some light as I have not seen this before, nor seen mention before.
I lifted the body off last week & noticed this under the layer of dust on the fuel tank when I was looking for the Vin stamp on the frame. It's tough to make out. I tried a couple different ways to take the shots. Anyways, it reads like this as you are looking at the tank from the left side ( where you see the dark grime is the fuel neck):
M V R <---This has the circle around it. I'm gonna say the Reg. Logo

99% sure that's the MFG date of 8/16/66. Makes sense since its a Dec car.
The glue evidence from the tank sheet is still to the left of the fuel neck. ( YES I have it !!) & the AO Smith logo is on the bottom as it should be. So, I wanted to share this & see if you have seen this before. This is it's 1st light of day since Dec 3rd 66.
The outside of the tank is still pretty bright & nice shape. The inside has a bunch of old dried out gas that potentially I'd like to clean out & appreciate best methods you have used for doing so.
Thanks
Fred
